BPI in El Nido makes waves as first full-service bank
EL NIDO, Palawan—Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI) has opened its first branch in El Nido, Palawan. It is the first and only full-service commercial bank in the municipality of El Nido.
“We are pleased to announce that BPI is officially open to all in El Nido. We are committed to empowering all Filipinos through access to banking services wherever they are in the country,” says Olga Ang, BPI Division Head for South Luzon branches.
Traveling is now more secure for tourists and locals as they no longer need to carry a lot of cash. “In the past, I had to bring huge amounts of cash to complete my real estate transactions and finance my business operations in El Nido. Bringing cash while on a five to six-hour land trip from Puerto Princesa to El Nido can be a hassle. Also, there was just so much risk in the transfer or remittances of huge cash for local business requirements. As a native and permanent resident of this place, I really thank God for finally bringing the BPI, my trusted bank, to El Nido.,” said Romeline Dela Cruz, a longtime BPI client.
The branch is located at the El Nido town proper, which is the usual starting point for tourists going to resorts located in the town’s other islands. Being a first-class municipality, El Nido has a total population of 37,860 and about 100,000 local and foreign tourists annually.
As a full-service branch, banking services offered by the BPI El Nido branch include peso and foreign currency deposits and investments, foreign exchange, local and foreign remittance services, personal and corporate credit cards, prepaid cards, auto and housing loans, personal and business loans, and insurance.
Aside from offering banking services, the BPI El Nido branch, like other BPI branches, promises to offer financial advice to clients. “More than providing the convenience that a full-service bank brings, we also want residents and local businesses to know that we can be their partner in growing their funds through investing,” adds Ang. “We will advise clients how to achieve their short-, medium- and long-term goals faster.”
To avail of the bank’s services and for more financial advice, visit the BPI El Nido branch located on Real Street, Barangay Buena Suerte, El Nido, Palawan.
