BPI Direct BanKo launches branches, loan products in the heart of Bicolandia
NAGA CITY, Camarines Sur—Small business owners in Bicolandia will now be able to grow their businesses with the help of one of the country’s leading banks.
BPI Direct BanKo, a subsidiary of Bank of the Philippine Islands, will be opening several branches in the municipalities of Iriga in Camarines Sur, and in Legazpi and Tabaco in Albay, to serve those who own and run their own businesses, or those usually referred to as self-employed micro entrepreneurs (SEMEs). BanKo is already serving SEMEs based in Naga City through a branch in the city earlier opened in 2011.
The opening of the three new BanKo branches in Bicol starts on June 29.
Aside from basic banking services, BanKo offers the micro business owner the BanKo NegosyoKo Loan, a loan account that gives SEMEs additional resources for expansion or additional capital for their businesses.
“We aim to bring BanKo in all key areas in the country, and Bicol is the first leg of our nationwide roll-out,” said Rodolfo Mabiasen, BanKO Head of Loans. Naga City is home to one of the country’s most vibrant economies, topping the National Competitiveness Index in 2015 and 2016.
“We would like to provide Bicolano SEMEs with loan products that they can afford and that would best fit their needs. By strengthening their financial capacities, we are able to create a positive impact on the quality of their lives and help them participate more extensively in the economic growth of both the city and the region,” he said.
Mabiasen added that BanKo has financial advisers, called BanKopares and BanKomares, who are tasked to help and advise SEMEs on how to manage their finances. SEMEs can also count on the BanKopares and BanKomares to guide and help them navigate the requirements as they avail of BanKo’s easy and affordable loans.
BanKo will also take part in ABS-CBN’s Barangay Kapamilya caravan to be held in Barangay Igualdad in Naga on July 1, from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
